Free Entry Into 150 Museums For Bank Of America Credit Card Holders

Credit cards are the easiest route to cash in on the frequent flyer miles where there are incentives that may reach beyond 100,000 miles. However, there are also other means to squeeze out the extra value out of credit cards that don’t have anything to do with the loyalty points. For instance, cash back is a much better deal when compared to earning points, in case you do your calculations right.

Today, we are going to be looking at the add-on from the Bank of America, which is called ‘Museums on Us.’ This program is into its 15th year and allows debit and credit card holders from Bank of America, free access into 150 museums, science centers, aquariums etc., during every month, but only on the first weekend.

New Jersey Hits Maryland Company With Tax For Allowing Telecommuting

Our Center for Legal Reform has four focus areas, one of which is the scope of state tax authority: “States should not impair our national market with protectionist barriers. So long as tax systems are defined by geography, tax assessment and nexus must be based on physical presence within geographic lines. A single transaction should not be subject to multiple taxation or burdensome calculation, assessment, or payment obligations.”

Unfortunately, there is no shortage of horror stories told to us by taxpayers in this area. This morning’s story involves a Maryland company that decided to let an employee telecommute from her home in New Jersey. New Jersey ruled earlier this month (PDF) that the company is now subject to the New Jersey corporate income tax because of that decision.

Craziness, I say. We can probably all agree that the employee in question should be paying her individual income tax to New Jersey since she’s a resident of the state and using its services.

Increasing number of men pinching ladies’ jobs

An increasing number of jobless men are turning their hands to professions that are more traditionally associated women, according to a new study from Simply Business

The insurance broker has revealed that blokes who are not afraid of their feminine side are setting up businesses in floristry, cake-making and health and beauty in greater numbers in a bid to stay off the dole.

In fact, the number of men working in traditionally female-dominated roles has increased by 370% since 2008. Over the same period, unemployment among women has reached levels not seen for 25 years. There are currently 1.12 million jobless women in the UK.

Recession and a huge decline in sectors such as construction and heavy industry have seen some men take up dance instructing and make-up artistry. The report found the number of male-run health and beauty businesses increased by 17% in the last 12 months alone.
