Keeping the Faith
I belong to an organization called Christians in Commerce. It’s a ecumenical organization whose mission is to bring Christ into the marketplace.
But truly, it simply helps men and women remain firmly planted in their faith and to remain hopeful even during bad times.
And how appropriate is that today, considering the sputtering economy, job losses, massive bank failures, government bailouts, ongoing military engagements overseas, rising deficits, and a likely future tax increase to pay for our government overspending.
You think about all those things and it could be easy to feel sad, depressed, burdened, or hopeless for the future – especially if you are one of those out of a job or losing a home.
Yet, in our meeting today the speaker talked about the glass being half full, not half empty. Often times in life it is our attitude that shapes our world and keeps up moving forward, not giving up. God is still here. God still cares and loves us, even when the world is seemingly falling apart around us.
It is our job to remain faithful, hopeful and see the cup as half full. God is still here. As Christians, our hope is with God, not the world.
If you are interested in spending time with other Christian men or woman consider joining with a CIC group in your area. Here is the link to their website. We meet once a week for one hour. You won’t regret it. I promise.
