Lippman Law Group in Tucson BACKDATED postage meter by about a month

I just reviewed a mailing from the Lippman Law Group that could not possibly have been mailed on the Pitney Bowes metered date on the envelope.

Why would a collection lawyer BACKDATE mailings?

One reason would be to falsely claim that they actually sent something out on a specific date that was never sent.  Since there was no need to backdate the correspondence in this mailing with the obviously backdated mail date, I suspect that they needed to prove that they mailed something relating to SERVICE in a lawsuit and they quickly rolled back the meter by a month.  And then they FORGOT to set the meter to the CORRECT date.

If it becomes an issue with the court because the debtor states that the mailing was not received until a month later, they’ll claim post office error.

That’s how I’ve seen collection lawyers operate and so many people are getting judgments against them without being served properly.

It’s incredible how widespread false affidavits of service and backdated mailings are in the collection industry.

Any REPUTABLE attorney would of course use online postage as you can prove when the envelope to any given address was printed.  That doesn’t mean that the envelope was actually mailed, but it makes it more difficult to falsify mailing dates—you can’t manipulate the dates as with Pitney Bowes meters and backdate mailings.

If you are being sued or you have problems with Lippman Law regarding mail they claim to have sent, but you didn’t receive in a timely manner, I’ll be glad to provide a sworn declaration and exhibits to document how they operate.

Tip of the day:

ALWAYS check the envelopes with important documents for mailing dates and SAVE the envelope if there is a significant discrepancy between the document date, mailing date and delivery date.
